On the basis of previous findings showing that some executive-control processes can be trained and that, to some extent, similar neurocognitive mechanism may underlie cognitive control in perceptual, motor and memory domains, this project aims to study the potential benefits of executive control training in a variety of far transfer tasks (at the behavioral and neural levels). Additionally, in this project we use transcraneal direct current stimulation (tDCS) to study the role of dorsolateral and ventrolateral prefrontal cortex in cognitive control as well as to enhance cognitive training.
